Meet the Team at Canyon View Dentistry

Dr. Cara Ashley leads the team at Canyon View Dentistry, practicing enthusiastically and with a commitment to creating and maintaining beautiful smiles. She attended Marquette University and earned a BS in Biological Sciences. Emerging from her undergraduate career with an interest in dentistry, Dr. Ashley finished her DDS work at Baylor College of Dentistry.

What she values about being a dentist is how rewarding it is to make substantial, personal connections with her patients to help them achieve a smile they are proud to show off.

Dr. Ashley lives in Littleton with her husband, son, two dogs, and one cat. She enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, playing soccer, and watching football. She is also an avid hiker and enjoys trail time with her husband and dogs. When she’s not taking advantage of all the outdoor activities for which Colorado is famous, you can find her curled up with a good book.

Dr. Haley Thompson is originally from Tampa, Florida and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in Chemistry from the University of Tampa. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Thompson moved to Reno, Nevada, where she provided comprehensive care for patients of all ages. While practicing in Nevada, she served as a Delegate representing the Nevada Dental Association as a Northern Nevada Dental Society member. To provide the highest standard of care, Dr. Thompson actively pursues continuing education courses and maintains an active membership in the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Thompson brings an energetic, education-focused approach to the team. Her passion for dentistry began in childhood, driving a lifelong mission to help patients achieve healthy, confi dent smiles. Dr. Thompson emphasizes patient education, ensuring that patients understand the vital connection between oral health and systemic wellness. Now thrilled to call Denver home, she looks forward to serving the community and helping her patients navigate their dental journeys with clarity and comfort.

Outside of the offi ce, Dr. Thompson takes full advantage of the Colorado lifestyle and enjoys hiking, paddleboarding, and scuba diving. She loves being outdoors with her dog, curling up with a good book, and rooting for the Florida Gators.

Dr. Kylee Wilhelm is a Colorado native who earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from the University of Wyoming before receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. She then completed a highly regarded General Practice Residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in San Diego, where she gained extensive training in cosmetic dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation, endodontics, and oral surgery—including dental implant placement.

Dr. Wilhelm is known for her empathetic approach and her ability to put patients at ease. She has significant experience working with individuals who experience dental anxiety. Her residency provided valuable experience treating medically complex cases and deepened her commitment to delivering personalized, high-quality care that blends function, health, and esthetics.

Outside the office, Dr. Wilhelm enjoys spending quality time with her fiancé and their two dogs. A self-proclaimed foodie, she loves exploring new restaurants and experimenting with baking at home. She also enjoys staying active by playing tennis and is a lifelong fan of the Denver Broncos and Nuggets. Dr. Wilhelm is excited to serve the community and is dedicated to building trusting relationships that help patients feel comfortable and confident in their smiles.

Dr. Alec Thurston is a comprehensive general dentist dedicated to providing personalized, patient-centered care in a comfortable and welcoming environment. He believes that the best dental treatment begins with listening to patients, understanding their goals, and helping them make informed decisions about their oral health. Dr. Thurston enjoys building long-term relationships with his patients and helping them achieve lasting oral health through preventive, restorative, and surgical dental care.

A Colorado native, Dr. Thurston earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Colorado Denver before receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska. He then completed an intensive hospital-based General Practice Residency at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado, where he had the privilege of caring for our nation’s veterans while receiving advanced training in comprehensive dentistry and the treatment of medically complex patients.

During his residency, Dr. Thurston received advanced training in dental implants, bone grafting procedures, surgical extractions, endodontic therapy, restorative dentistry, and comprehensive treatment planning. He also gained valuable experience collaborating with physicians and specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex medical conditions.

Dr. Thurston is passionate about lifelong learning and regularly pursues continuing education to stay current with the latest advancements in dentistry and provide the highest quality care possible. He especially values helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident throughout their dental treatment.

Outside the office, Dr. Thurston enjoys spending time with his wife and their two French Bulldogs. He is an avid fan of the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, and Colorado Avalanche. In his free time, he enjoys working out, snowboarding, traveling, and exploring all that Colorado has to offer.

An award-winning Registered Dental Hygienist, Jennifer combines technical excellence with a calm, caring approach that makes every appointment feel like a positive experience. She’s known not only for her clinical expertise, but also for the way she puts people at ease—especially those who struggle with dental anxiety.

Jennifer’s career began after earning her degree in Dental Hygiene of Applied Science and obtaining her license, but she didn’t stop there. She immersed herself in the dental world, working with orthodontists, anesthesiologists, and even in specialized offices treating cancer patients. This wide-ranging experience gave her a rich background in advanced dental technology, cosmetic procedures, and patient-centered care. Today, she brings all of that knowledge to Canyon View Dentistry, helping patients achieve both their immediate and long-term oral health goals.

Her passion lies in prevention—teaching, motivating, and empowering patients to keep their smiles healthy for life. Whether she’s providing a gentle cleaning or assisting with specialized treatment, Jennifer’s meticulous care and serene chairside manner reflect the Canyon View Dentistry standard: one mission, one vision, always patient-first.

Outside the office, Jennifer leads an active and joy-filled life. She loves horseback riding, hiking, skiing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Her toy poodle, Charlie, is her constant sidekick (and unapologetically spoiled). Jennifer values health, wellness, and happiness in all she does—and she brings that same energy to her patients and the Ken Caryl community she proudly serves.
