CEREC Crowns and Bridges

Prevention is a critical element in any good oral health plan. But for many reasons, you may have a tooth that suffers damage to the extent that it requires your dentist in Ken Caryl to recommend a dental crown or bridge. A dental crown is a ceramic reproduction of an entire tooth that we can fix individually during root canal therapy, on top of a dental implant, or as part of a dental bridge.

Dentists have been using crowns for decades due to their natural appearance, durability, and fit. However, one drawback in the past to a conventional crown is that it had to be created in a specialized, outside lab. So to complete your crown, you had to sit for more than one visit, with an often ill-fitting temporary crown used in between.

But thanks to significant technological advances, Canyon View Dentistry can offer you solid and beautiful crowns ready in less than two hours with the CEREC restoration process.

What is CEREC? Crowns in One Visit

Today, we can offer the most effective restorative procedure for dental patients: CEREC (Chair-side Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics). The CEREC process produces porcelain ceramic crowns, veneers, and inlays while you wait. As a result, a process that we once achieved in several weeks and many dental visits we can now complete in a single appointment.

The Benefits of CEREC Dental Crowns and Bridges

Many aspects make our CEREC process an excellent alternative to conventional dental restorations. Here are a few:

  • Accuracy – the digital impression is the most precise available, providing a superior fit
  • Durability – the high-quality porcelain materials we make the restoration from has a lifespan of up to a decade with proper care
  • Visual Appeal – both the accuracy and the materials combine to create a natural restoration
  • Convenience – save time and discomfort by completing the process in one sitting

Improvements in every step of the process make CEREC restorations the longest-lasting available today. Any repair we produce with our CEREC system results in options that look, feel and function just like your natural tooth.

Steps to Make a CEREC Dental Crown

Our CEREC process combines leading-edge computer technology with on-site ceramic fabrication regardless of which type of restoration you need. We begin by scanning your mouth to create an optical impression.

We feed this impression into the Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software so that Dr. Cara McCallum’s team may design the crown, veneer, or inlay that will fit very well. Next, a milling machine takes the design and builds it from high-quality ceramics. Finally, we polish and then place this new restoration over your damaged tooth surface or, in the case of a crown, over your old tooth entirely.

The time required varies for each treatment, but you can expect us to produce most restorations in 2 hours or less.

Porcelain Bridges

In cases where you need to repair multiple damaged teeth adjacent to each other, Dr. McCallum may recommend a dental bridge. We make this option from a light frame that supports one or more dental crowns that fill in the gap.

This appliance is usually attached to the healthy teeth on either side of the damaged area to create a robust chewing surface. Your dental bridge will also mimic your natural teeth so that no one will notice you are wearing a restoration.

5 STAR EXPERIENCE!

“5 STAR EXPERIENCE! I don’t know about you but I dread going to the dentist. I had two teeth that needed fixing but I have been dragging myself because I can’t deal with waiting for crown for at least a week. So today I went to my appointment to this new dentist and IT FELT LIKE I AM AT THE SPA! They had a blanket to cover my feet, a warm wet towel for my chest, back message from the chair, and netflix. The people are super nice and friendly – it start from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. I could stay there forever! They have super nice office you will really feel you are at the spa! I can’t wait be back to this SPA – yes it is a SPA to me for my next appointment for my crown. I did not have fear I usually get of seeing the dentist.” -Tisi
